Firstly I would like to apologise for the lack of posts recently, I have lots to write about but have just been too tired and busy. I’m going to try to catch up with everything this evening while gorging on a tub of ‘Ben & Jerry’s’ Cookie Dough ice cream. Probably not a good idea as it will only slow me down 🙂

Inspired by some of the home-made trinket stalls at ‘Hyper Japan’ I decided to try to create some bits and bobs of my own. So today I finally found time to buy some much-needed resources from Hobbycraft. Now what I plan to create involves Polymer clay, but that is all I will be revealing at the moment. If what I plan to create is successful, I will then post a photo. I’m not sure how long it will take me so don’t expect anything too soon.

There’s still a range of tools I need to collect but with the books I’ve seen on Amazon and all the brilliant YouTube tutorials, I’m confident I can do it, although I must admit many video’s do make things look easier than what they are but we’ll see. Wish me luck.

Carrie Hope Fletcher

Posted on

Carrie Hope Fletcher, known for her YouTube video’s recently joined the Les Miserables cast as Eponine. This was a dream come true for the 20-year-old who played young eponine when she was 7 years old. Fans that hadn’t yet seen Carrie at the Queens Theatre had the opportunity to have a sneak peek yesterday at West End Live in Trafalgar Square. Her emotional performance of ‘On My Own’ blew everyone away.

The following video is of the complete Les Mis performance at West End Live filmed by my friend Emma.

Here’s a collection of Photos I took of Carrie and the rest of the cast.

Carrie will continue to make video’s on her YouTube channel ItsWayPastMyBedtime throughout her years long contract in Les Mis.

Big IF London

Posted on

Yesterday (8th June) myself and my niece Jordan attended the Big IF London Rally in Hyde Park to contribute to the thousands of campaigners who turned up to make some noise to persuade G8 leaders to put an end to world hunger, which has been an ongoing issue for many years. I was made aware of this event through Jordan who is a fan of YouTuber Charlie McDonnell (Charlieissocoollike) who has teamed up with Save The Children and his mum Lindsay Atkin to raise awareness of malnutrition. They experienced the effects of this first hand through a trip to Tanzania. While they were out there they made a series of video’s to make others aware of this problem too. Inspired by their determination to make a difference, I thought I should do my bit and share this with you all.

Hyde park was the ideal location to hold this event and we had such lovely weather for it too. Hosts Myleene Klass and Gethin Jones welcomed a variety of performers and speakers onto the main stage to help get the message across and different support groups had areas set up on location. We mingled around the video bloggers tent where a few other YouTubers had arrived to be part of the day.

We headed over to a separate part of the park to contribute to the thousands of spinning flowers which had been planted by campaigners. Each petal on each flower represented the 2 million children who die of hunger each year. This was an impressive sight and a powerful message to send to world leaders.

Here’s how it all unravelled.

I really hope that we all made a big enough impact for world leaders to take notice and do something. This isn’t just a problem in Tanzania and other parts of the world but also affects families in the UK. Nearly 1 billion people go to bed hungry every night. This has to end. To find out more about the campaign, go to the main website HERE. You can help by raising awareness in a way you know best…blogging! You can write your own post or re-blog mine. The more publicity the better.

My 2012 Highlights

Posted on

2012 has been yet another great year for me overall and I’m extremely grateful for that. I have had great fun with many good friends along the way. I have managed to do a little travelling with Spain and Barcelona being my main holiday this year which included lots of great excursions. Disneyland Paris was somewhere I’ve always wanted to go and it certainly made me feel like a kid again… everyone needs a little magic in their lives. My long weekend to Devon was a welcomed break from the norm and left me feeling refreshed.

I attended three fantastic conventions with this year being my first experience of conventions too. Bitten 3 weekend, the Entertainment Media show and the London Film and Comic con all had some brilliant guests. Other highlights included seeing Michael McIntyre at the o2, The Harry Potter studio tour and the amazing annual West End Live which I will no doubt be at again next year.

Obviously my brother’s wedding has to be one of the biggest highlights of this year. It was a lovely occasion and one that I will remember for a long time to come. Meeting the coolest couple on YouTube Charles and Ali Trippy at the Contiki meetup in London with my niece was exciting and I hope to meet more of the YouTubers that I watch next year. Seeing one of my favourite bands Evanescence was long-awaited and I’m pleased to say that I have actually finally seen them live.

I tried my hand at poetry and really enjoyed it so I plan to submit more poetry into any online magazines that will accept them and see where I get. I completely failed on my other blogs for reviews and art but I’ve decided to just add everything I do to this blog in the future. Oh, and that book I bought back in January is still unfinished… what am I like!

10 Items of Awesomeness

Posted on

So this is something that I have seen people on vlog about on YouTube. Basically you share 10 items from your room/house that may mean something personal to you and you explain them. Now as I’m always thinking of new things to write about I thought I would take this idea and blog about it. Anyone can give it a go.

Item 1

My Ball Joint doll Malaki

Malaki was given to me by my friend Zoe who collects ball joint dolls, this was one of the oldest dolls in her collection. She made the clothes he is wearing. He currently sits on a shelf next to my bedroom lamp.

Item 2

My Pop! Heroes Superman Vinyl Figure

Just Vinyl toys in general as I collect them but I chose to post my Superman because he is my favourite superhero. I’ve been a big ‘New adventures of Superman’ and ‘Smallville’ fan for years.

Item 3

My Alex Winter Signed picture

Alex Winter signed this when I met him at the London Film and Comic Con this year. It was a dream come true meeting someone from my favourite film of all time ‘The Lost Boys’. Now just have to work on Keefer Sutherland 😛

Item 4

Dan from ‘The Used’s’ Drum Stick

This was rescued by my friend Mandy after it had been thrown into the crowd at the Evanescence gig I went to recently at Wembley Arena. ‘The Used’ were on as the support act.

Item 5

Grumpy Angus

Grumpy Angus is made by a talented guy from the website Forgotten Forest. He sits comfortably at the end of my bed and he’s very well-behaved despite his looks 🙂

Item 6

Hypnotic Poison by Dior

This is my favourite perfume, it reminds me of a friend that I don’t see very often. It smells amazing.

Item 7

My handmade sock monster

This was bought for me by my brother and sister in-law while they were walking around the little shops and boutiques in Greenwich. Its made out of socks and sits at the end of my bed keeping Grumpy Angus company.

Item 8

My ‘True Blood’ t-shirt

I bought this from one of the stall at the Entertainment Media show in London this year. It’s one of my favourite Vampire series’s. I’m trying not to put it on too often so I don’t wear it out 😛

Item 9

Snape’s Wand

I bought professor Snape’s wand while on a trip to the Harry Potter Studio tour earlier this year. Snape is my favourite Harry Potter character. I was so sad when he met his demise 😦

Item 10

My Masquerade mask

I love masquerade masks… this is a handmade mask from the website Masked Boutique who make a range of different masks for all occasions. Masquerade balls always remind me of a scene from the film ‘Labyrinth’.

Lazy Blogger

Posted on

This must have been the longest time I’ve been away from my blog since I started it. Yet again I don’t really have a valid excuse other than I was feeling lazy. Anyhow I’ve been up to all sorts and have lots to share with you. But seeing as I have quite a bit to say, I’m going to blog in two or three separate posts. So starting on a more personal note, I attended the eagerly awaited wedding of my brother at the beginning of September. Dean and Sarah married at a Tonbridge Wells registry office, moved onto a lovely scenic park for photos and finished at a nice country pub for the reception which was fully hired out. Entertainment consisted of a Frank Sinatra singer, magician and a good DJ with disco. I was in my element. The Rose was free-flowing and my requests for the DJ proved amusing. My niece became my dance partner for the evening but my moves on the other hand… well lets not go there shall we ha ha!

Also last month I went along to Hyde Park to meet Sam Clark for a fan gathering. For those who don’t know, Sam Clark used to play a character called Ringo in the Australian soap opera “Neighbours”. Since leaving the show he has been pursuing a music career. He bought his guitar along and played us a few acoustic songs which went down a treat.

I recently started to help my niece vlog and upload to YouTube. I also decided to make my own vlogging channel but after attempting my first vlog, I realised I just looked and sounded stupid, not to mention how ridiculous I felt talking to a camera in public. Jordan still continues to vlog on occasions and seems to appear a little more natural when doing it. We did capture some funny moments and I will continue to help her. You can check out her channel via this link http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCizjS1VyLEdw0az7oBVj_dg

Speaking of vlogging, I met Charles and Alli Trippy last weekend at the Contiki Road trip London meetup. It was an amazing experience for me. They were as lovely as they are in their vlogs. There were other YouTubers there but I only wanted to meet Charles and Alli and after 2 hours of waiting in the cold, it finally happened.

R.I.P Nathan Wills

Posted on

Some sad news hit the YouTube community yesterday when we heard about the death of Nathan Wills. My thoughts are with his family and friends and I hope you find some comfort knowing that he is now at peace. I didn’t know Nathan very well but I knew that he was a good person. I saw Nathan Last year during a YouTube meet-up for Katers17  and Cory Williams of SMP films. It was fantastic how Nathan took responsibility for the huge gathering of people who turned up at Trafalgar Square and he looked like he thoroughly enjoyed himself along with good friend and fellow Vlogger Sara Parker. They all helped to make that a day to remember for myself and my Niece and I’m grateful for that.

Nathan Had been suffering from depression and reportedly took his own life on Friday 27th July. A statement from Nathan’s father expressed how special Nathan was to the family. Fans have been leaving messages of condolence with Nathan’s friends Kate, Cory, Sara and others deeply affected by his death. He will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace Nathan.
