I had planned to have another poem ready for you guys today but recent happenings in my life have left me unable to concentrate. So I thought I’d share my worries and get it off my chest. Until now, I’ve only told a few selected friends and work colleagues plus my manager. Someone reading this might actually be going through the same thing. It’s a little bit weird but bear with me.
I’m not entirely sure but I guess it may have started around 6 months ago. I would wake up during the night having dreamt that I had swallowed something I shouldn’t have like a pill or coin. I’d then (semi-awake) proceed to cough up (while on my hands and knees in bed) what I’d dreamt I’d swallowed until I realised that I was dreaming. I usually lay back down and go straight off to sleep again. It happens maybe once every two to three weeks. I don’t know how it all started but last week it took to a whole new level.
I dreamt that I was going to be sick but I woke myself up by making a loud gurgling sound, then realised I couldn’t breath. It felt like I was suffocating. I panicked and thrashed around until I caught my breath again. I was sure that there was some sort of fluid at the back of my nose and throat blocking my airway. The whole experience has left me a little shocked and frightened. I’m just glad I woke up when I did.
The next night I was too scared to go to sleep but since then it hasn’t happened and my sleep pattern is slowly returning to normal. I have a doctor’s appointment booked for next week (yes my doctors are rubbish) so I’m hoping to get a diagnosis but thanks to google I think I know what it could be. Acid Reflux…. yep! never had it in my life but it sounds like the culprit. This is where the acidified liquid content of the stomach backs up into the esophagus which during the night can’t be controlled by the body as much because you swallow less and are laying down. I won’t go into any more detail… don’t want to put you off your meals 😛
But then again I could be completely wrong as with most of my self diagnosis’. There were the times when I thought I had protein deficiency and then there was the over-active thyroid which were both completely wrong. At the moment I also think I have the adult form of ADHD but that’s something I haven’t been tested for YET. But we’ll wait and see. I may also be a hypochondriac.
I don’t often publish two blog posts in the same day but seeing as WordPress have just kindly informed me that I started my blog a year ago today It would be rude of me to let it go un-noticed. I have so far enjoyed blogging immensely and have surprised myself by being consistent which I was a little apprehensive about to begin with. I have stuck to it and as a result have become a typical blogger. I’m always thinking about my next potential blog. When I’m out and about or even at work, I’ll have idea’s whirling around in my head. Sometimes I won’t go out without my camera in case I come across something that I can include in a blog post. I plan upcoming events so that I have something interesting to blog about. I am officially an obsessive blogger.
I decided that I wouldn’t write daily blogs as I would run out of things to say and it would become boring for the readers and I continue to stick by my rule. I would like to say a huge thank you to my followers, I have appreciated every single like and comment I have received. I will carry on blogging for as long as I’m getting views and already 2013 holds many great blogging opportunities for me which I’m very excited about. See you in my next blog post… over and out 😛
So this is something that I have seen people on vlog about on YouTube. Basically you share 10 items from your room/house that may mean something personal to you and you explain them. Now as I’m always thinking of new things to write about I thought I would take this idea and blog about it. Anyone can give it a go.
My Ball Joint doll Malaki
Malaki was given to me by my friend Zoe who collects ball joint dolls, this was one of the oldest dolls in her collection. She made the clothes he is wearing. He currently sits on a shelf next to my bedroom lamp.
My Pop! Heroes Superman Vinyl Figure
Just Vinyl toys in general as I collect them but I chose to post my Superman because he is my favourite superhero. I’ve been a big ‘New adventures of Superman’ and ‘Smallville’ fan for years.
My Alex Winter Signed picture
Alex Winter signed this when I met him at the London Film and Comic Con this year. It was a dream come true meeting someone from my favourite film of all time ‘The Lost Boys’. Now just have to work on Keefer Sutherland 😛
Dan from ‘The Used’s’ Drum Stick
This was rescued by my friend Mandy after it had been thrown into the crowd at the Evanescence gig I went to recently at Wembley Arena. ‘The Used’ were on as the support act.
Grumpy Angus is made by a talented guy from the website Forgotten Forest. He sits comfortably at the end of my bed and he’s very well-behaved despite his looks 🙂
Hypnotic Poison by Dior
This is my favourite perfume, it reminds me of a friend that I don’t see very often. It smells amazing.
My handmade sock monster
This was bought for me by my brother and sister in-law while they were walking around the little shops and boutiques in Greenwich. Its made out of socks and sits at the end of my bed keeping Grumpy Angus company.
My ‘True Blood’ t-shirt
I bought this from one of the stall at the Entertainment Media show in London this year. It’s one of my favourite Vampire series’s. I’m trying not to put it on too often so I don’t wear it out 😛
I bought professor Snape’s wand while on a trip to the Harry Potter Studio tour earlier this year. Snape is my favourite Harry Potter character. I was so sad when he met his demise 😦
My Masquerade mask
I love masquerade masks… this is a handmade mask from the website Masked Boutique who make a range of different masks for all occasions. Masquerade balls always remind me of a scene from the film ‘Labyrinth’.
I apologise now for the most pointless and random blog post ever. But I must share with you my love of socks… not just any old plain socks but colourful socks with patterns and pictures on. I have unknowingly accumulated quite a few pairs lately and my sock drawer is over-flowing. I have to stop myself from buying them now because I have far too many and it’s becoming one of my many obsessions. I like to think that the socks that I wear reflect my personality 🙂
