31 Day Gratitude Experiment – The Final Days

Posted on

I have at long last come to the end of my 31 day gratitude experiment. I must admit it was tough keeping it going but I made it and I’m rather impressed. I knew there was a lot to be grateful for but I didn’t think that there would be as many as I have written down.

Day 28

I am grateful for:

  • The people I know (it’s always good to have connections)
  • For not being as cold as it has been.
  • Cheese (I have cheese with everything even tomato soup)

Day 29

I am grateful for:

  • Conventions and the fact I have a few to look forward to.
  • Birthdays and celebrating life (My niece’s 14th birthday is approaching).
  • SFX Magazine… because they have some awesome film info.
  • Chocolate milkshake (because I love it).

Day 30

I am grateful for:

  • My photography skills (I’m not a pro, it just comes naturally).
  • The days when I finish work early.
  • Catch-up t.v online.
  • Getting to know new friends.

Day 31

I am grateful for:

  • Artists that inspire me.
  • The feeling of leaving work in the evening and realising I’m free 🙂
  • receiving my pay slip at the end of the month.
  • Being able to complete this 31 Day Gratitude experiment.

Ronan Keating Live

Posted on

Here’s some photo’s that I took at the London O2 arena on Saturday 26th January. Ronan went on the road with his ‘Fires’ tour (named after his new album). His fellow band mate Shane Lynch from Boyzone joined him on stage at the end to duet and announce that Boyzone tickets for their 20th anniversary tour later this year will be going on sale on Valentines day. He sang a mix of new songs and old including ‘When you say nothing and all’ and ‘ Life is a Rollercoaster’. Going back to his roots with a bit of pop music has proved to be popular and I completely agree with his decision to do so. I had a fantastic time with fellow fans and now look forward to the long-awaited Boyzone tour.

31 Day Gratitude Experiment – Week 4

Posted on

It’s nearly over! I just hope I’m not repeating myself anywhere.

Here’s week 4 of my ’31 Day Gratitude Experiment’.

Day 21

I am grateful for:

  • Not being as naive as I used to be.
  • The people who left my life who I didn’t want in it.
  • Lessons well learnt.
  • Not making the same mistakes twice.

Day 22

I am grateful for:

  • My writing ability improving since I was a teenager (it was terrible).
  • Being vegetarian.
  • Pen and paper (I’m always writing things down).
  • Having long hair (short hair is harder to maintain).

Day 23

I am grateful for:

  • Lip balm which is greatly needed in this weather.
  • Music channels on t.v (when I’m bored with everything else).
  • Sky + (when there’s a film on to late to stay up for).
  • My new electric toothbrush that leaves my teeth feeling extra clean.

Day 24

I am grateful for:

  • Polite and well-mannered people.
  • Hearing parakeets chattering to each other as they are perched on a rooftop.
  • My mum singing terribly along to 50’s songs as she cooks the dinner.
  • Managing to not slip over on the ice walking too and from work.

Day 25

I am grateful for:

  • Amazon (where I buy just about anything).
  • Superheroes.
  • Celebrity big brother ending so I can go back to watching my box sets in the evenings.
  • Rylan Clark winning celebrity big brother.

Day 26

I am grateful for:

  • Seeing Ronan Keating in concert.
  • Feeling like a teenager again.
  • The announcement of the Boyzone tour ticket release next month.
  • The friends that I share my excitement with.

Day 27

I am grateful for:

  • My mp3 player that plays all my favourite tracks when I’m on public transport.
  • Not knowing what tomorrow brings.
  • People that have different opinions.
  • The likes and views I get on my blog posts.

Consuelo Parra – Digital Art

Posted on

I came across yet another impressive digital artist whose work I just had to share with you guys. Consuelo parra’s creations ooze emotion and energy. Words that spring to mind when trying to describe her work are solitude, silence, Nature, dark, gothic, beauty and contemplation. I’m completely mesmerized by each piece she has produced. Here’s a few of my favourite pictures although there are so many to choose from.

The Lost Dreams - Consuelo Parra

Come, Little Children - Consuelo Parra

First Time Poll

Posted on

I’ve recently been giving my blog posts a lot of thought by planning the contents of what I write but I’ve realised that no matter how hard I think, I still don’t know what is going to be popular or not. I’m thinking too much and it’s not necessary. Blog posts should be natural and free flowing. The best way to find out what an audience wants is to just simply ask them. So for the very first time I’ve created a poll to see just what you guys want to see more of on my blog so please vote.

Any other suggestions will be welcomed in the comments below 🙂

Over Enthusiastic Blogger

Posted on

So I’ve been re-assessing the way I blog and realised that I’ve been going a little crazy on the posts lately. I read up on some tips and it said that it’s better that you DON’T blog on a daily basis because it can overload your audience (and I don’t want to do this). I thought I was being clever by being so regular (with my posts). I have also realised that because I have blogged so much over the past week or so it looks like my posts are starting to lose meaning and therefore becoming a little pointless.

The quality of my posts have taken a battering as I have noticed when comparing older posts to newer posts. I suppose sometimes you have to take a step back to discover what’s been going wrong. I’m not saying that what I have posted lately is a load of rubbish but it’s just lacking in quantity and detail. I read that the ideal length of a post is 700 words long… too much and it could get boring, too little and it won’t attract people back to your blog. There’s more to this blogging lark than I originally thought and I’m obviously still learning. But to start off with, I’m going to stop with the daily blogging and maybe post every couple of days.

As with the 700 word count thing, I don’t want to push my luck too much and end up rambling on just to reach a target. I’ll just end up boring you and boring myself at the same time. Do you agree with these tips? should I even bother following what others say? Do you follow any useful blogging tips? I’d certainly appreciate some feedback on this slightly confusing topic.
